As Sea of Wood approaches its 10th anniversary, 2025 marked a defining year for the label’s artists. Across international touring, major showcases, releases, and catalogue growth, the year reaffirmed the strength of Yunnan- and Inner Asia–rooted crossover music as Sea of Wood’s core artistic direction.
Puman

2025 was a breakout international year for Puman, highlighted by an appearance at Playtime Festival in Mongolia and an eight-date European tour featuring standout performances at No Logo Festival and Rototom Sunsplash. Looking ahead to 2026, Puman has been selected to appear in and compose music for a Tencent television series set in Yunnan, positioning the band as one of the most recognisable contemporary ambassadors of Yunnan music.
Manhu

Manhu delivered a major international breakthrough year in 2025, performing at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia before presenting an official WOMEX showcase in Tampere, Finland. The strong response from international presenters confirmed significant touring potential across Europe, Canada, and South America, reinforcing Manhu’s role as Sea of Wood’s first signing and a cornerstone of the label’s international strategy.
Bagedai

Bagedai continued to expand their reputation as a large-scale live act in 2025, receiving invitations from major European festivals including Colors of Ostrava and being selected by the WOMEX 2025 jury. Although international touring could not be realised this year due to ensemble size and logistical constraints, the band’s catalogue performance remained strong, surpassing six million cumulative streams, with sustained international interest carrying into the next cycle.
Wild Mushrooms

2025 marked a key developmental year for Wild Mushrooms with the release of their debut album Under the Dragon Tree, followed by a successful regional tour across Yunnan. These milestones established a clear artistic direction and a solid foundation for future catalogue growth and audience development.
HAHA Master

HAHA Master experienced a strong domestic touring and festival year in 2025 and made their international debut at Bangkok Music City. A major highlight was the licensing of their song “Here Comes the World” to Chinese pop artist Jin Chi, marking an important crossover from independent alternative music into the mainstream commercial sphere.
Tulegur

Following the release of their latest album Walk Away, Tulegur completed a national tour across China in 2025 and began receiving invitations from European festivals. These developments signal the next phase of the project’s international expansion and long-term positioning.
